Why should I replace my old windows?
Old windows leak air, they rattle, they don't open smoothly or close tightly, they fog up, and they don't insulate much better than a sheet of plastic. New windows make a house more attractive, more energy efficient, quieter, and cozier. With the winters we have in Bozeman and Belgrade, you will feel a noticeable difference from you new windows.
What's all this talk about tax credits?
Federal and state tax credits are available to homeowners who install new energy-efficient windows and doors. The savings are tremendous--up to $200 federal and $1000 state.
Does Andy's Glass install windows or just sell them?
Unlike lumber yards and some other window companies, we have our own crew of window installers. We stand behind our work and we're here for the long haul, so if you ever have a problem with your new windows all you have to do is call Andy's Glass.
What are the advantages of a vinyl window?
Vinyl windows are affordable, low-maintenance windows. They are popular because of price and because vinyl insulates as well as more expensive wood windows. But not all vinyl windows are equal. If you are shopping around, be aware that there are low end vinyl windows and there are high quality vinyl windows. Some companies will try to sell you a slim-line window (2-3/4" or 3" frame thickness) and hope you are not informed enough to know that the better quality vinyl windows have at least a
3-1/4" frame. There are other differences as well. You get what you pay for so be sure you are comparing apples to apples.
What in the world is Ultrex?
Ultrex is a pultruded fiberglass composite that is perhaps the perfect window construction material. It is 8 times stronger than vinyl and has a tensile strength equal to that of steel. Its thermal expansion rate is virtually the same as glass so even during extreme temperature changes you should never have seal failures or stress cracks.
What is All Ultrex and what is Wood-Ultrex?
Ultrex windows by Integrity come in two versions. The All Ultrex window is just that--a solid Ultrex window. The Wood-Ultrex window is Ultrex on the outside and wood on the inside, giving you a durable, maintenance-free exterior and a true wood interior.
